BPK – True Timber MC2 Snow

Our True Timber MC2 Snow BPK has all of the terrific features of the BPK with a hydrographically applied MC2 Snow camo pattern. The MC2 Snow pattern combined with the architecture of the BPK and the uniqueness of immersion printing, guarantees, like fingerprints, every BPK will be unique.

In the forefront of a snowy landscape, MC2 Snow features overlapping limbs blend with twigs and brush to create an incredible multidimensional camouflage pattern. Shades of tan, gray and green surface above the hazy backdrop, make this pattern ideal for scrub lands, high timber, cedar breaks, mixed timber and brushy terrain. This high-resolution pattern combines light and dark contrasts, along with snow covered branches to create one of the most detailed and efficient snow patterns on the market.

Our Process

Even if you’re familiar with the hydrographic printing process, you may want to take a minute to read about our process.  Every dipped part undergoes 10 separate steps before its considered ready to ship. It’s not as simple as you might think.

Prior to applying the MC2 Snow pattern, each BPK undergoes several processes to ensure a quality result.  Each BPK is hand sanded, cleaned and masked to allow proper adhesion of a base coat, an important step required for proper adhesion of the pattern.

After the base coat has been applied and oven dried, the BPK is ready for dipping. Next we float the hydrographic film on the surface of the water in the dipping tank. When the film hydrates, activator is applied and the BPK is slowly and carefully dipped in the liquefied film to receive the MC2 Snow pattern.  Complex parts like the BPK and MPWH often require two dipping processes to achieve the desired look.

Immediately after dipping the BPK is washed to remove any excess activator and then racked to oven dry.  After the dipped parts are inspected they receive a clear acrylic top coat to protect them from normal wear and tear.  Once the Acrylic is applied the BPK’s are racked again to oven dry.

After drying, the BPK undergoes one final inspection before final assembly and packaging.

The BPK

The BPK is designed to secure the butt stock of your weapon and to work in conjunction with the MPWH.  Together the system’s design allows you to mount your weapon vertically, horizontally, off the ground, even on the ceiling. Rethink Weapon Storage.

A combination of mounting methods gives you the option to secure the BPK temporarily or permanently.  They include Key Slots, Locking Strips, Screws, Bolts, Releasable Cable/zip ties and Adjustable Bungee cords.

The underside of the BPK contains a T-shaped channel which houses a factory installed Locking Strip.  Locking Strips allow you to securely mount the BPK and remove it quickly.  Locking Strips can be mounted in several locations, allowing you to move your System to and from frequently used locations. Key Slot screws provide a similar option of moving back and forth between locations.  The BPK’s design incorporates screw/bolt holes on all surfaces, allowing you mount the BPK on any plane.

BPK Accessory Kit

The BPK ships with an Accessory Kit which contains:  Key Slot Screws, Prep Wipes, a Primer Stick,        .75” x 3” and .75” x 4 “Locking Strips, and a complete set of instructions with a QR code that links to this website for reference. These items can be used to mount the BPK in a number of locations. All components of the Accessory Kit are replaceable.

Multi-Purpose Weapon Holding System

Q:  What is the best way to secure my System if I will be using it in different locations?

A:  It depends on the types of environments you will be using it in and the surfaces you will be mounting to.   Key Slot screws and Locking Strips can be installed in several locations and left in place for quick removal and remounting when you return.  In the field, the use of Locking Strips and Key Slots isn’t always an option.  In such cases, the Adjustable Bungee Cord and Releasable Cable/Zip Ties are quick, efficient and easy methods of mounting.  In short, different mounting methods may be better than others depending on location, environment and conditions.

Q: When I try to mount my weapon against the wall, sights and optics get in the way. How do I correct this?

A: Turn the Butt Plate Kit (BPK) 90° so the long side is parallel the surface you want to mount your weapon to.  Now your sight and optics will be parallel to the wall.  This will work on any plane.

Q: Are longer straps available for larger butt stocks?

A: Yes, the BPK ships with the VS-10 strap which is 10” inches long. Longer straps are available in 1 inch increments up to 13” inches.

Q: Can I use Key Slot screws to permanently mount the BPK?

A: Yes, the Key Slot screws provided in the BPK Accessory Kit will work in the Key Slots on the BPK as well as any of the five additional mounting holes. If you are mounting into concrete, steel or other very hard surfaces, you will need other types of fasteners.

Q: How can I secure my weapon on different planes?

A: The key is how you mount the Butt Plate Kit (BPK). The BPK mounting options allow it to be mounted on any plane. It can virtually be mounted on the ceiling.

Tip: Before mounting your system, take time to determine your options. If possible, mount it so the rear and side walls of the BPK assist in securing your weapon.

Q: When I use the clip attachment on the MPWH will it scratch the barrel of my weapon?

A:  No, the arms of the clip that secure the barrel have silicone covers that prevent metal to metal contact.

Q: Can I put a hot barrel in the MPWH?

A:  It depends on the accessories you have mounted on the MPWH. Both the VO rated Sheaths and the Silicone Clip Covers can accommodate barrels with temperatures in excess of 480° F.  If you are using Santoprene sheaths, you may want to let your barrel cool a below before securing it.

Q: What is thebest way to mount theClip onto the MPWH?

A: TheClip is attached to the MPWH using a combination of pressure fit and screw attachments which   provide over 700 lbs. of attachment force. The pressure fit attachment should take under a minute to install. Tip: Wet the overmold on the top of the Center Ridge prior to installation.

Start the installation by placing one end of the clip on the overmolded surface of the Center Ridge.  Push downward on the two metal arms facing the MPWH so that they are below the outer rails.  Push the clip forward so that the arms slide under the rails.  Tip: Push the Clip forward by applying pressure to the portion of the clip with the Silicone covers. Rewet the overmold if necessary.  As you push the clip forward the front set of arms will engage in the slots in the rails. Push the Clip Arms downward one at a time to disengage them from the Rail Slots Tip: Pushing one side at a time during this process is easier. When the front arms of the Clip have been pushed past the first set of Rail Slots, push the rear arms downward so they are below the Rails.  Continue to push the clip forward until all four arms are engaged in the Rail Slots. When the Clip Arms are engaged, the holes in the Clip should line up with the threaded Inserts in the Center Ridge. Using the Allen Wrench, install the Insert Screws found in the MPWH Accessory Kit.  Do not over tighten the screws. Doing so may strip the threaded inserts making them unusable.

Q: If I choose to keep my Clip attachment mounted on my MPWH, can I purchase another MPWH to use with Sheaths without having to buy a complete system?

A: Yes. Replacement MPWH’s can be purchased. Be aware replacement MPWH parts are available with and without magnets. Choose the replacement part to best suit your needs.  Replacement parts do not include Locking Strips or Straps.

Q: Can I use my MPWHS for anything besides storing my weapon?

A: Yes. You can use the MPWH while zeroing your weapon in place of sand bags. The system can also secure your weapon during maintenance.

Q: Why do I need to use the Straps on my MPWHS?

A: The Strapping System is designed to provide additional security and will provide at least 80 pounds of additional holding strength to each component of the System (the MPWH & BPK).  That’s a minimum of 160 pounds of additional holding strength.  In vehicles, aircraft and ships, straps reduce vibration, preventing damage to optics and helping to keep your weapon zeroed.

Q: What’s the difference between the regular MPWHS and the Mil Spec MPWHS?

A: There are six items included with the Mil Spec System that are not in the regular System.  They include:

  • .750” Mil Spec VO Burn Rated Sheaths.
  • .660” Mil Spec VO Burn Rated Sheaths.
  • Barrel Clip with silicone Clip Covers.
  • Insert Screws with Alan wrench.
  • VS-11 Mil Spec Flame retardant Velcro Strap on the MPWH
  • VS-10 Mil Spec Flame retardant Velcro Strap on the BPK

Q: What is the difference between the standardstrap and the Quick Release Tactical Strap?

A: The standard Strap is a one piece strap that attaches to the MPWH through both Strap Slots and provides the strongest holding force of the two types of straps.  The Quick Release Tactical Strap is a two piece strap. Each piece of the strap attaches to a separate Strap Slot and the two pieces overlap to secure. The advantage to this design is one pull on the strap releases your weapon. Quick Release straps should be used in situations where rapid retrieval of your weapon is required.

Q: Can I remove the magnets from my MPWH if I want to permanently mount it?

A: Yes, but be aware you will not be able to reinstall them. You may want to consider purchasing a replacement MPWH without magnets and keep the one with magnets for portable use.  If you choose to remove the magnets, do so by gently tapping the magnets using a nail punch in the holes above the magnet on the top side of the lower platform until they are removed.

Q:  Do I have to use both parts of the System to secure my weapon?

A:  Yes. To properly secure a weapon both the barrel and the butt stock should be secured.

Q:  Are there any safety concerns when using the MPWHS?

A:  Before securing your weapon in the MPWHS, make sure both the MPWH and the BPK are securely mounted and will support your weapon. When using the System, follow all weapon safety rules and protocols.

Q: Are the magnets in the MPWH strong enough to secure my weapon?

A: No. Do not depend on a magnetic connection to secure your weapon.  The magnets will provide a holding force while staging your weapon, but can be easily disengaged by outside forces.

Q: When permanently installing the MPWH what should I consider?

A: There are a few considerations. One is what type of surface are you mounting to?  Is the installation going to be subject to vibration as experienced in vehicles, aircraft and ships?  These factors will influence the type of fasteners you’ll need to use.  Make sure if you are mounting to a surface that will be subject to vibration, your choice of fastener will not loosen as a result of the vibration.

When securing the MPWH, the overmold on the underside of the Lower Platform will act as a gasket. Do not overtighten your fastener. Doing so may crack the lower platform and compromise the functionality of the MPWH.

Q: If I lose or break any part of the MPWH or BPK, can I get a replacement part?

A: Yes, all components of the MPWH and BPK are replaceable with one exception.  The Magnets in the MPWH must be factory installed.
